So you sit here,
Until you realize you’ve done enough to question yourself.
And gulp your guilt away.

The 23rd of July 1813.
Dearest Jane Austin,
Halfway through your work called Pride and Prejudice, I was left to wonder endlessly about the life led during the times of Elizabeth Benett. I admire, that during those times, the love and importance of reading and gaining knowledge, of the respect and courtesy men and women had between each other, and the love for literature, were so very important. I admire, Eliza Benett, if I may call her by her nickname, in her being so determined to express her opinion and ensure and reinforce her rights as a young woman in the 18th century.
I am constantly infuriated with Mrs Benett’s complains and cries on how Jane and Elizabeth were about to get married to two quite *reasonable* men but they couldn’t. If I were in the place of Elizabeth I would have probably screamed in rage and cried in frustration of living with Mrs Benett. What I found most offensive, was Mrs Benett calling Eliza rather foolish, when I found Elizabeth and Jane the most understanding and mature of the lot. Kitty and Lydia remind me of the young girls in our world today gossiping about boys and men and being unable to resist their urge to be with someone.
I would like to also summarize my understanding of the times you lived in. Men would work, while women would stay at home and do what they did best when it came to household chores, and modesty and respect was often observed between men and women. I’ve also learnt that perhaps class and money were of the most important to have a status in society. Although Mr Collin’s money and property did not give him much attention, since according to me he was rather foolish and praised himself irresistabily. Thus, what I admire, is the importance of knowledge and intelligence during those times, which I greatly respect. Learning the eagerness of the younger Benetts to get married should not have come as a surprise to me, considering that some girls in families still consider marriage as the main goal in their life in my world today.
However I wonder, how women would spend their lives every single day other than reading, studying, and walking in the park. It intrigues me, to think about the interesting lives they must have led. I am not at all considering household women to live boring and depressing lives, but I am quite curious to learn how they lived their lives with contentment. Moreover, however materialistic their lives may be, compared to our modern world, there is something that defines the description of their lives in one word, simplicity. The simplicity of the life of Elizabeth Benett, although understanding her mind was so not very simple. She was content, respected her cultural beliefs but also allowed her own opinions to voice in and thus knew, how to live a content life. I truly admire Elizabeth Benett, her class, her intelligence, her humility and her grace.
I’ve also learnt, the difference between formality and respect, and the importance in being respectful towards yourself and to your society.
Although I have watched the enactment of your story, it inspired me to read and understand the story through the original piece of literature and through the interesting mind of Elizabeth Benett which did not fail to increase my curiosity after every chapter.
And that I greatly admire, the way you presented your society, and conveyed such a beautiful message.
She came gliding towards the table in her long evening gown, “Sorry I’m Late, but I shall begin” she said.
And placed herself on the seat at the dining table, searching for a piece of paper in the midst of an absolute mess.
While me and eldest were seated on the same table for two hours before her, cutting away scraps of paper signifying where our minds were silently wandering off to.
“This is quite Therapeutic” said she,
The trees swayed to the silent breeze, ruffles of tiny leaves,
The breeze scattered towards all houses, slithering through our window that displayed the Prussian Blue sky.
A bright orange light burnt vigorously shadowing the magazines we peered into, magazines filled with Gossip and so called “Catchy” taglines.
An hour later, we placed our collages in front of each other, and played a little game of interpretation of each other’s work.
Finally explaining our own interpretation of the scraps stuck on our fair white sheets.
As the Therapy de-cluttered our overburdened minds,
And at 2:30 am we fell asleep.
This was the story of our Midnight Collage Therapy.
I hope your Summer is going quite well.
Today I decided to do my very first post on an Outfit of the Day. Because the first time ever in my life my sister’s camera captured the perfect GIF and a perfect picture. And because I’ve always wanted to do a Summer OOTD.
And why on earth is it so hard to upload a GIF on instagram? I had to download an app called Boomerang, but sadly it wasn’t as good enough as this GIF, not to mention it took my sister several takes to get this GIF just right.
Neverthless, here it is.
We woke up late and went out for a nice Sunday Breakfast at a local restaurant, and I seemed to casually dress myself in my favourite top along with the extremely unique gold metal and pink braided sandal straps (atmosphere).
Along with a mint scarf and gold bangles.
The weather was a bit chilly.
I like smart but comfortable clothing, to mention my favourite colours for tops are usually shades of grey and blue. Also, I don’t like wearing too skinny jeans, I don’t like to suffocate to look good.
Also, loose and light tops just make the outfit more comfortable and quite classy.
Have a great Summer.
And to all those posting on the #SummerBloggerChallenge, thankyou so much 🙂 I will reblog my favourite of your posts by the Beginning of September.
So as part of my Summer Blogger Challenge, I’ve decided to take on writing 25 posts before the end of August. This, is my first post.
A few days ago, my three little nephews came over while we had a small food party, in my culture, food party’s are very important, and as it is a special month, they are quite common. I fell asleep at around 5pm, and woke up to a cool evening of rain and the smell of delicious food. I went to the dining table only to find my cousin and his children running around and squealing with laughter, they met me with enthusiastic excitement (knowing that I’m the secret Batman of the city).
They walked into my room and their eyes grew with excitement at the sight of my easel, which I hadn’t used for very long, what made them even more excited, was a big, blank canvas waiting to be filled with imagination, sitting on my easel.
“Can we colour?” my oldest nephew asked me, he’s 5 years old.
I agreed of course, and gave him and his brother a big box and said,”I present to you The big box of INCREDIBLE THINGS”, and it was hilariously adorable how their eyes widened with a loud WOAHH and opened it to peak inside.
My sister made my Facebook account when I was seven, I was designing my first Yahoo avatar around the age of 8, three years ago I found myself getting introduced to Instagram, gmail and google+, I had reactivated my Facebook unknowingly at the age of nine, opened a new twitter account just a few months ago, and I’ve had a Skype since the age of 12. Who could forget those good old days of Club Penguin and Fantage? (I did consider them to play a very crucial role in social media.)
The thing is, with my mind raving constantly about various figments of my imagination or past/present/future events, I noticed that Social Media played a big role in my imagination. My perspective has most definitely been remodeled and reshaped multiple times, my attitude and my humility has gone on a very adventurous escapade revealing my bitter and a not so bitter, a quite humble self, and of course, it created a huge impact on my friendship with others and my discovery of my own identity.
But here’s what I’d like to introduce, the illusion that I constantly keep trying to disentangle myself from, the illusion of self satisfaction through counting my likes or waiting for individuals to message me, the illusion of proving my self worth or beauty through pictures or messages, the illusion of happiness, when you’re given all the attention you desire. Why should I call it an illusion? Isn’t it all real?
Of course it’s real, which makes it more illusive, actually. Although I believe that social media has benefited us in multiple ways, this one quality of social media, a quality of illuding one into happiness, when in fact, it consumes the time you could spend discovering your true worth and your passion. We tend to be so consumed in the virtual world, that while liking all the “Carpe Dieme” posts, we’re not really following the mantra are we? Are we really ‘seizing the moment’?
While we sit and ogle at our social media platforms, the technological trance swoons us into the fictitious reality, locking our mindset and perspective,
Until we see another post.
The Social Media addict,
I stayed at my Day/ Residential school last week, and one night, we decided to sneak out, but my fears of the guards catching me and taking me mercilessly away to the authorities made me jump back inside the dorm. However, 3 seconds of jumping out and jumping in, gave me this incredible mind escapade. And with the past events of emotionally revealing incidents, my fingers were forced to type this piece of poetry.
I dipped my feet in the puddle reflecting the pale moonlight.
A sweet breeze and swaying trees caught my sight.
My heart beat fast, the crunch of leaves.
It was just me.
The roaring sounds of madness deafening my ear
and blinding my eyes.
My heart, beat
a faint, quiver of a beat.
My soul feeling meaningless and empty.
My feet numbly walking on dry earth as it repelled every step I took.
The wind pulling my eyes away from looking deep into my heart and brain
Searching for the incredibly annoying reality
Forcing my heart to hide in the corners of my rib cage.
admiring beauty, exhausting jealousy
Fading street lights helping trees claw constantly
Look beyond what you See
Beyond what you see
Just to make it a bit more clearer , I’m currently in the mood for abstract poetry.
I’d like to know what your perspective of my poem is,

Happy Summer Break 🙂
With the predicted highest temperature for summer going up to 49 degrees Celsius, and constant sunburns and increasing oily skin, Summer may not always be everyone’s cup of Tea. However, to prepare yourself and myself mentally and physically, is essential, here are a few of my ways to detox your body and mind during the scorching heat of summer.
Buzzfeed Tasty’s Chicken Caesar Salad.
3 years ago the word Salad was never found in my food dictionary, however, thanks to my mum and subway (shh..it’s *healthy* fast food) I’ve discovered some incredible combinations for a perfect salad. Home made salads are a perfect meal for those hot summer days, keeping your body healthy and fit, and detoxing yourself from all that oily food. Here is one Salad that I have a serious relationship with, thankyou Buzzfeed.
(I added some extra cheese.)
Constantly tired of being nagged to drink water? Well honestly, water is necessary, but when you feel like having a slightly flavoured drink, Beltek’s WILD Vitamin water is really good, it’s mild flavour is really refreshing and perfect to drink after doing some sports and yoga.
The Natural Face Mask
Four Ingredients: Yogurt, Lemon, Cinnamon and Honey, and your face will glow like never before. This natural 5 minute face pack or two minute scrub clears your clogged pores and oily skin that makes your face feel fresh and healthy.
Most preferably cotton, light coloured and loose, breathable clothing is the best wearable for summer. It allows your skin to breathe, and protects it from the intense summer heat.
Sports and Yoga
If your sweating, make sure its because of the body heat due to your early morning walk in the park or the street or because of your yoga workouts. Honestly doing something strenuous really helps my mind and body gain mental empowerment and physical strength. Meditating, in fact, helps me persuade my mind to believe that the temperature is not too hot and saves me from sweating too much or feeling uncomfortable. Sweating during these workouts actually cleans your skin and gives it that refreshing glow.
Go for a swim
If I lived by a beach, I would go for a swim every.single.day. One of the best ways to have fun and mentally destress yourself is through swimming, just go for a swim.
(I dont really have a picture because my pool is empty due to the water shortage but this might just tempt you into swimming…)
And Lastly, drink lots of water, this is really important, water keeps you hydrated, refreshed, healthy, strong, beautiful, and breathing, so make sure you drink more than ten glasses a day.
Have a lovely Summer,
Ever had one of those days where you feel like Ratatouille and decide to do an experimental recipe of your own?
My craving for Dark Chocolate was due to the immense sweetness of the chocolates I had eaten for the past few days, I needed a very deliciously, dark, chunky chocolate cake.
And this is what happens when you have complete faith in your Ratatouille instinct.
Perfect with a mug of cold milk.
Here is the recipe:
Preheat the oven to 180 degreees.
The method is very simple, melt the butter, expresso and dark chocolate in a pan, once completely melted and combined, set aside to cool. In another bowl, add all your dry ingredients; flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Whisk in the egg in dark chocolate, expresso and butter mixture. Pour the mixture into the dry ingredients, mix with a spoon, fold in the chocolate chips and cubes of dark chocolate, and spread in a round tin. Keep it in the oven for about 15 minutes, check with a skewer or a knife if the cake is baked.
Leave the cake for about 10 minutes to cool, then cut a large slice, the cake will crumble apart in chunks, serve with a mug of cold milk.
Please let me know if you baked a cake inspired from this post.
Our minds are deeply consumed in thoughts that swoon us or drown us into long lasting thinking. What I’ve noticed, about myself, and my friends, is that to concentrate may be undeniably easy, but terribly hard as well. That kept me wondering, what is the true essence of Concentration?
Commitment, that is the true essence of Concentration. To commit oneself into a deep thought, to allow yourself to think about something, you begin to concentrate. You concentrate on that which your mind and soul favor, which your heart desires. Concentration is not only important for studying, it’s important and dangerous. To concentrate too much on a negative thought or act, may consume your soul into addiction and arrogance. To concentrate on a normal daily act, will allow you to realize what you indeed prioritize more, you realize what you truly commit to and what your mind is attracted towards.
Sometimes, to commit oneself in order to concentrate may not be very easy, which is why, concentration requires your mind to be focused. What may be the difference between commitment and focus? Commitment is dedication, and focus is a clear view. You need both commitment and focus, but you need to commit in order to focus. It may be hard, but it is the only solution out of the dreaded curse of Procrastination that we teens face on an hourly basis.
All the best for all the success you aim to achieve.
I write some, I think some more, and I question a lot. It's very chill, trust me.
